January 2007 - Jonah-nearly 3 and Jude-9 months

(this is sad..it's been four months since I have posted.)

I can't believe I'm so late in getting back to this..actually I can.  That's how my life has been for the last nearly three years..longer than that..about five years..around the time we started the church.  I digress.  This is Jonah around Christmas making cookies with MawMaw and Jocelyn, his cousin who is 6 months older than him.  (She's my sister's oldest daughter..Jean Claire is her youngest..I'll post a photo of her later.)

This is the two of them with my dad.  He had to have a heart stint put in one of his bypasses (he had six bypasses 14 years ago) on Friday of this week.  I'm so thankful he's alright.  He's home now and should be back to normal in about a week.   Unfortunately, heart disease runs in his side of my family.  I'm hoping I inherited my mother's genes in that regard.  My dad is a class act.  I'm not sure what I would do without him...I have two incredible parents.

Mwah.

This little guy has stolen my heart.  Well, Jonah did too.  Jude is so loving and  yet, he has a funny little temper.  He's crawling, pulling up on everything, into everything and he's getting enough hair to actually comb now.  I'm still nursing but he is able to eat a little too. He likes hot cereal so I feed him oatmeal with brown sugar and maple syrup...the little bags of instant stuff.  Have you tasted the stuff they give to them in the baby boxes??  It's awful.  I think baby food is pretty much a waste of money.  He loves fruit too..and bread. I cannot believe how big he's getting.

L ook at this little cutie..he's so smart.  His little mind is like a sponge.  He has memorized five scripture verses and knows the references fairly well.  He's also in love with music.  We bought him a real drum set for Christmas (junior set) and a guitar also.  He loves them.  He likes to go drag Lesh's guitar out of his office and bring it to him and say "Let's play our guitars."  Lesh is amused other than having his guitar dragged around by a two year old.  Lesh dabbles with the guitar.  He knows a few jazz chords and I always get warm and fuzzy feelings for him when he plays them.  Actually, the first night I ever spoke to Lesh on the phone, he played guitar for me (over the phone) so I guess I'm a sucker for acoustic guitars...and kind hearts.  I have a wonderful husband.  Jonah says that all the time now.." Daddy's you husband"  Too cute.  I also taught him another amusing little sketch.  It goes something like this.

Me to Jonah - "How did you get so smart?"

Jonah's reply - "My momma" (with this sing song little southern accent)

Me to Jonah - "How did you get so good looking?"

Jonah's reply with more intensity - "My momma" (smiling..because he knows what we're working up to.)

Me to Jonah - "How did you get so stinky?"

Jonah's exuberant reply - "My daddy!" (to which I just die off laughing)

Lesh isn't completely amused by this whole exchange...understandably.

I'm so blessed..little Johnny Cash. haha  That's what my mom calls him when he wears this black sweater with his black corduroy pants.

One of his Christmas gifts from me..probably the cheapest and he's still having so much fun with it.

Lesh and I with one of the most incredible trumpet players ever!!  Chris Botti!!  We went on a super fun date to his concert last night and we had private reception tickets to get in and meet him and get autographs and pics..it was a once in a lifetime experience and just such a fun night.  He signed a DVD for us to Jonah..Jonah will really appreciate that in years to come.  The pic was for us. :)  His band was phenomenal..inspiring..energizing.  I love jazz..I enjoyed it so much..Lesh said he did too.  I think only meeting Brian McKnight or someone like that could top that for me...as far as meeting famous people go.  (Lesh hates this picture of himself by the way..he looked like he had had too much candy to eat..hehe!!)
